    FOR MORE INFORMATION:
  • New cell phone batteries we sell must be slow charged prior to their first use and for the first several uses. As all of our batteries are new, they are uncharged. All batteries require a "break-in" period, so don't be alarmed if your battery doesn't hold a full charge right away. New batteries may show false full charge (voltage) as indicated on your phone or charger. Also new batteries may not power up the phone because of low voltage. For the First Three Cycles, please make sure to charge the batteries fully and drain them fully before recharging. This will offer a good condition and a high performance and will ensure that they will operate at their maximum capacity. This is recommended for all cellular phone batteries. Also you can discharge most portable phones by unplugging the AC adapter and leaving them turned on until completely discharged.

  • Condition- For all cell phone batteries: a slow charger works best. It is recommended to charge the batteries for at least 14 hours initially and not to use a car charger for this. For cell phone batteries with capacity over 1500mAh the charging time should be increased up to 20 hours (required for ex. by a Nokia 3800mAh battery which is the most popular on our site).

  • Capacity- For all cell phone batteries the capacity is measured in mAh (milliamp-hour). The higher capacity offer the longer the standby and talk time for all batteries. The first impulse is to get the battery with the highest capacity. However, the highest capacity batteries are generally heavier and bulkier than lower capacity batteries. You may still need the highest capacity cell if you want to use your phone longer between recharges. Most people are happy with a standard capacity battery but many choose a long life battery. Extra capacity will make a battery larger.

  • Weight- can be offset by selecting lithium ion or lithium polymer cell phone batteries as they have a higher power density (they pack more power in the same amount of weight).

THERE ARE FOUR TYPE OF CELL PHONE BATTERIES as you can see below:

  • Lithium Polymer - This is the newest battery type being used in cell phones which have a higher power density than the other types. This are either a thinner or lighter battery, or some combination of both. Lithium Polymer batteries do not suffer from the dreaded memory effect and can be recharged anytime.

  • Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) - This was the latest battery technology before lithium polymer, Lithium Ion batteries have a higher capacity and are lighter in weight than NiCd and NiMH and generally come with most phones. For most people, this battery technology represents the best combination of size, capacity, and value. Lithium Ion batteries do not suffer from the dreaded memory effect and can be recharged anytime. These batteries are more costly than NiCd and NiMH, because of their quality and characteristics. Characteristics of Lithium Ion batteries include: Light Weight, High Energy Density, Long Cycle Life, No Memory Effect.

No Memory Effect -means- if you keep charging a battery over and over when it still has some power stored, the battery will eventually build a "memory" and will not be able to completely drain and charge at full capacity. If this keeps up over time, you may lose over 50% of your battery's service life and capacity, within the first year. The Li-Ion / Lithium Polymer batteries haven't this kind of memory, they can be charge only for few minutes daily and after that can be used until they are dead. Also for the first three cycles, please make sure to charge all cell phone batteries fully and drain them fully before recharging and after that you can charge only few minutes/hours per day.

  • Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMh) - This are the most popular standard batteries. They are lighter than Nickel Cadmium batteries, but heavier than Lithium-Ion batteries. While NiMh batteries are not as susceptible to the dreaded memory effect, they must still be cycled once in a while for optimum performance.

  • Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) - This was the oldest battery type used in cell phones. They are the heaviest and lowest capacity battery type.
